First off, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Lauren Cummings and I love being a part of such a wonderful Catholic school community on the West Side (Best Side!). I am the 7th grade Social Studies teacher and one of the 7th/8th grade math teachers, along with Mr. Derrick Wood. In addition, I will be coordinating our STEM/Maker space as well for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. Further details will come in regards to the variety of STEM activities that will take place in the classroom. I attended Saint Ignatius Loyola for grade school, then went on to Mother of Mercy High School Class of 2014. Since then, I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Middle Childhood Education for Mathematics and Social Studies in 2018. This will be my second year teaching and I look forward to being a part of your student’s education and overall growth as a person. Post-graduation in 2018, I went abroad with an organization, CISV, which specializes in educating children in global friendship. I spent an entire month in Mexico City, Mexico, with four wonderful 5th graders from the Cincinnati area. Currently, I am also in my second year as Mercy McAuley’s JVA Assistant Soccer Coach. In my free time, I enjoyed reading just about any book recommended to me. I spend my time playing indoor and outdoor soccer with my friends, spending time with my niece and nephew, traveling, and creating art. I love adventure and recently went to White Rock Park, zip-lining and swinging from ropes with a great group of friends. I am really looking forward to getting to know your student during this year (and next!)
